Resident Assistant
Position Summary:
We are seeking a compassionate, responsible Resident Assistant to provide vital weekend support to the moms and babies living in Hope House, our primary maternity home. This role offers essential relief to our dedicated house-parents and ensures continuity of care for our residents.
You’ll be a steady presence during the weekend, offering emotional support, maintaining daily routines, and helping create a peaceful, structured environment. This position requires trustworthiness, discretion, strong organizational skills, and a heart for ministry.

Maintain a stable, caring, and Christ-centered home atmosphere for residents during assigned weekend shifts
Support and encourage residents through active listening and healthy relationship building
Ensure household tasks and resident routines are followed consistently
Respond appropriately to any emergencies or unexpected events during the shift
Collaborate with weekday staff and identify areas where additional support is needed

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both one-on-one and group settings
Kindness, empathy, and the ability to work compassionately with individuals from diverse and often vulnerable backgrounds
Deep alignment with Road to Hope’s Christ-centered mission
Self-motivated, organized, and attentive to details
Able to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally and 8–25 pounds frequently
Personal or professional experience related to pregnancy (preferred)
Valid Driver’s License (required)
CPR Certification*
Food Handler’s Card*
*CPR and Food Handler’s Certifications may be obtained through Road to Hope during onboarding.

This position primarily covers weekend shifts, totaling 29 hours from 5:00 PM Friday to 5:00 PM Sunday. Resident Assistants typically work 1–2 weekends per month on a rotating schedule.
You’ll also attend:
Monthly all-staff meetings (6:00–8:00 PM once per month)
Weekly program staff meetings as needed
Periodic training and program development meetings, scheduled in advance
Opportunities for additional shifts may become available during the week when house-parents are away for work or vacation.

$493 per weekend worked (average)
Onsite sleeping accommodations provided
Paid certifications (CPR, Food Handler’s) during onboarding
